Microscopy
A Thorlabs Cerna microscope is available to analyze surface microstructure in the visible & near-infrared spectrum. Cerna is essentially a heavily modified Nikon FN1 microscope with the following features:
- Objectives: plan-fluor 10x, 40x, 60x (air), 100x (oil immersion)
- Modalities:
- Brightfield
- Darkfield
- Polarized light
- Differential Interference Contrast
- Epi-fluorescence
- Images can be recorded using two high-resolution cameras: Prosilica GT5120NIR (IR-enhanced CMOS, monochromatic) and Prosilica GT6600 (RGB CCD with Bayer grid).
- All microscope axes are fully motorized (objective, condenser, sample X & Y) and can be driven with 1 μm resolution.
- Measurement sequences are scriptable via a dedicated Python API
